Dennis began his career as an electrical engineer in the Royal Navy, moving into industry project management, lecturing (in operations research), marketing and business modelling. While appreciating the importance of technical skills in management, he is keenly aware that ‘things are done by and through people.’ He has made and sold furniture; run a theatre, tutored maths and provided bid management services as well as latterly supervising MSc students at Warwick University.
He has enjoyed working with young people to explore UN development goals, corporate social responsibility and product market and technical development.
Dennis is firmly rooted with family in Plymouth despite years of commuting to Bristol and London and sales tours of the Far and Middle East and the United States. He appreciates the quality of life here and wants to see Plymouth prosper so that younger people can also prosper and enjoy the same quality.
